Keyloop names Tim Smith as Chief Strategy Officer and launches all-new Automotive Retailing Platform

• Tim Smith, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Automotive Transformation Group (ATG), has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for Keyloop following the successful acquisition of ATG earlier this year.
• Since the acquisition, Keyloop and ATG have made significant headway, integrating and combining their strengths to architect the industry’s first de facto Automotive Retail Platform, Fusion.
• As CSO, Tim heads a dedicated Strategy function that, alongside the Technology and Go-To-Market functions, will develop and execute a clear and compelling offering guaranteed to drive value for customers worldwide.

Reading, 25 September 2024. Keyloop, a leading global automotive technology company, has announced the appointment of Tim Smith, former CEO of ATG, as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). This follows Keyloop’s acquisition of ATG in May 2024, and an integration which harnesses the strengths of both companies, uniting best-in-class people, products, and processes to create the industry’s first de facto Automotive Retail Platform (ARP), titled Fusion.

As CSO, Tim is spearheading a newly established Strategy function that encompasses Value Propositions and Marketing, driving the positioning and development of the compelling all-new ARP, set to deliver value to Retailers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Financiers, Fleet Suppliers and Partners worldwide.

Fusion is the industry’s first true Automotive Retail Platform (ARP), covering four key domains: Supply, Demand, Ownership and Operate.

Drawing from the success of ATG’s omnichannel retailing platform which focused on Supply and Demand, the ARP uses the same component methodology but expands significantly to incorporate two new domains. Ownership and Operate leverage Keyloop’s powerful Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and Aftersales capabilities. The ARP will use these combinations of force, to optimise the entire vehicle sales process from consumer enquiry through to ownership and retention. It will harness Experience-First technology to amplify customer and vehicle lifetime value and reduce operational costs, making businesses more agile in a rapidly evolving sector.

The platform will continue to evolve as the combination progresses, with initial benefits to early Fusion adopters who will be able to leverage DMS integration with NetDirector® iConvert and NetDirector® SalesMaster in Q4.

Commenting on his appointment and the launch of the ARP, Tim Smith said: “I’m thrilled to step into this new role at Keyloop. We have a unique opportunity to unlock value for our customers through the power of a connected ARP. The four domains have been strategically designed to create a high-level framework that helps our customers engage the extensive experience of our people and the scale of our technology installations. We are laser-focused on simplifying the vehicle sales and ownership process and delivering on our Experience-First principles. Our ARP is not just about technology; it’s about helping transform the way our industry operates and delivering real value to everyone involved.”

Tom Kilroy, CEO of Keyloop, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Tim Smith as Chief Strategy Officer for Keyloop. Tim is a powerful force for change in our industry and very highly regarded by our customers and partners. His impressive track record at ATG and the progress he’s already made here at Keyloop helping shape the vision of Fusion, gives me great confidence in his ability to drive further success as part of our Executive Leadership Team.”
